
BIOGRAPHY
Chris is an adjunct music instructor for Liberty University Online and serves as the Adjunct Trumpet Instructor at Central State University and at Sinclair College. He is also the Adjunct Music Instructor and the Charger Music Society director at Edison State Community College and the trumpet teacher at Spring Valley Academy, That Music Place, and Beavercreek Schools.
As a performer, Chris plays trumpet with the Mason Symphony Orchestra, Kettering Praise Orchestra, Mad River Brass, Eddie Brookshire Big Band, Greater Dayton Brass Ensemble, and Ryan Roth and The Comeback Special Elvis Tribute Band, and he leads the Innovation Jazz Combo as well as regularly being called upon for freelance work.
Chris earned his Master of Music in Trumpet Performance degree from Wright State University and his Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from The Ohio State University. He has studied trumpet with Pharez Whitted, Daniel Zehringer, James Stokes, William Campbell, John Harner and Bill Adam.
During his career Chris has had the opportunity to perform with many artists and ensembles including Livingston Taylor, Michael Chertock, Vince DiMartino, Mike Williams, Vaughn Wiester, Hal Melia, John Harner, Mike Speck, James Swearingen, Nanyi Qiang, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Dayton Philharmonic Concert Band, Lima Symphony Orchestra, Southwest Ohio Philharmonic Orchestra (SWOP), Sinclair Community Wind Symphony, Generations Big Band, Kim Kelly Orchestra, The Tom Daugherty Orchestra, The Dayton Jazz Orchestra, and the Dayton Salsa Project. Chris also performed on the Premier Cruise Lines ship the Sea Breeze.
Chris has served for over twelve years as a church music director at churches in Florida and Ohio. Additionally, he has been a guest clinician at a number of institutions, maintains an active teaching schedule and is a regular contributor in the International Trumpet Guild Journal and is a performing member of the Dayton Music Club.
